Back to Blogging!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life....isn't that how the saying goes? It's been a tough couple of weeks for me because I lost my grandmother just a week ago. She was very special to me and I miss her terribly. She hasn't been in the best health for a long time and hasn't been herself for a while but I guess the due to the fact that her death made it final was heart wrenching for me. She was one of the most wonderful, giving, women I've ever known and I am going to strive to be like her in all the ways I can. I made a memorial for the funeral which I am going to put up in may home. It was very special to me to showcase all she has made for me over the years even though the pictures I showcased only barely scratched the surface of what she has done.

Grandma

The smell of baking peanut butter cookies fills the air
The sound of the sewing machine resonates in my ears
The flower garden always blooming and buzzing
The walks around the yard looking at the birds
Teaching me how to cross stitch and embroidery
Her sweet voice and quirky little sayings live in my mind
All these are memories now that she is gone
But will forever have a special place in my heart.

This poem I put on my collage and it brought back such vivid memories for me growing up with her. I am making it my goal to work towards being more like her. She was very caring and selfless. She was also an outstanding christian woman who did all for her family. She was very gifted in sewing and crafting. I feel like I am a great deal like her and aspire to be half as good as I feel she was!

I lost my very special grandmother almost two years ago. I can relate to how you feel. My sympathies to you for your loss.
