Me and Alicia at the Race For the Cure in Little Rock, Arkansas
Today things are brighter here in the Sandage household.
Alicia is in better spirits as of late and all is good in her world....for the moment....which means all is calm in MY world. Lovin' that!!!! She actually got better news about her school dance competition team last Thursday. She thought she didn't do well on the tryouts for the different teams and was REALLY bummed out but come to find out, she made ALL 4 seperate teams!!! This w as good and not all the girls did as well as she did.
She also is doing GREAT at volleyball. Season is almost over though which is actually a GOOD thing and maybe we will get a little break before basketball season starts for Andrew.
Speaking of my nutty son, he decided to get a buzz haircut. This in itself would be fine but he got the initials T.H. "engraved" in his head (hair) in "honor" of our good friend Traci Hardig who is just now battling breast cancer for the second time. It isn't that I am upset for his support for our friend but......I don't know I just wish he wouldn't have done that. Of coarse, I am ever the supportive mother so it REALLY isn't that big of a deal......at least it isn't permanent and it IS a super nice gesture.
And, speaking of Traci, Alicia and I went the Race for the Cure today and walked. I am still a bit under the weather but I figured maybe some fresh air would do me some good and it was fine. I was BEAT after the fact but it was really a good experience and here are some shots from the day.
This is Traci, her daughter Jessica and Alicia
Jess and Alicia have played softball together for quite a few years.
This is the view of some of the 40,000 women who came to the event today!
The Benton Junior High Volleyball team joined together in support and honor of their team mate Jessica and her mom Traci. About half the girls were able to come to the race today and walked with Jess and her mom. It was such an awesome experience and I think that everyone that took part today was touched by it! We have some AWESOME kids!!!!
